I think I spend most of my time during the holiday trying to hone my rusty photography skills. Taking photos of mostly anything I feel like taking. This includes my lunches during holidays. No, I'm not that bored but I just don't have anything else that is more....interesting to capture such as models ? hahaha..I have craved to do a portrait photo shoot, still craving for more.

Anyway, here are some of my shots of my lunch.

Canon in da Dark

Alright so this is my second post for this month ! Around of applause to myself for being able to update this blog after such a long long time.

I was playing with some of my camera's function today until it hit me that "hey, let's try something". So, I took my camera bag and set up the er...mini-photo shoot studio. Actually, it far small than mini since the only light source I used was a torchlight.

The tittle above said it all. I took pictures of my miniature Canon family in the dark, depending solely on the torchlight acting as a light source. I gotta admit that I had a hard time trying to focus on the object. Blame the darkness. Thank goodness I have my little baby 50mm f1.8, which has allowed me to shoot in a low F number to maximize the light. As I was facing hindrance to focus on to my subject, I have tried some shot using manual mode in state of auto mode.

I thought of taking more and more shots trying to change the direction of light source. Unfortunately, my camera's battery betrayed me in the end by dying half way. It's now in the hospital receiving its treatment. *sigh*

Anyway, here some of the shots below. Feel free to give any comment.

Any suggestion on what should I shoot next ?

Wesak Day 2010

Time to clean up the cobwebs. It's my semester break again. Guess that explains why I'm updating the blog now. I will try to update as regular as possible whenever I have the chance.

Wesak Day took place in the month of May. For those who don't know what is Wesak Day all about, here's a something for you guys. Wesak Day is to mark the birth, Enlightenment and passing away of Gautama Buddha.

As usual, I went to temple and volunteer to help at the stall. This year, my temple were glad to receive a visit from the Prime Minister of Malaysia and his wife, together with other ministers. Besides that, we also received a pleasant visit from Gordon Ramsay. For those who watched Hell's Kitchen, you guys know who I'm referring to.

I guess I'll let the pictures below to do the rest of the talking.

Semester break is going to end soon. But then again looking at the bright side, I've been keeping myself busy watching the television...but only Thomas Cup and Uber Cup. Well, it's better than nothing. Currently watching some photoshop tutorials too...thanks to Jerome.

I don't like leaving my April blog post as 0. Zero isn't a very good number for me. Anyway, I just realized that it was ZERO !! Put the blame on the back-to-back assignment, mid-term and also quizzes. So, I guess I was pretty caught up with those and that explains my lack of update.

Anyway, recently, I decided to take a few shots after quite a while. I didn't have to head far as I spotted something in my garden. I don't really know what plant is it called all I know that the stuff that I was shooting is called a 'bird'. It's quite rare....I guess as I've never seen it anywhere else before.

So, skip the crap here are some of the shots. Oh by the way, all shots are taken my 50mm.

It was unusual day for me today. Firstly, it was because I finally had lunch with some of my high schoolmates. Unfortunately, not all of them due to different scheldues. In addition to the unusual day, I had to stay back in college to attend a seminar after lunch.

The seminar basically touched on what to expect in college and of course! America. So, I manage to find the video shown to us on youtube. You guys have to check this out regardless if your still in high school or postgraduate or undergraduate. It's hillarious ! Have a laugh with it.

This activity took place a week ago, to be exact last Saturday. It was an insane Saturday for me because I had to attend a 6 hours driving amali in PJ. I actually finished the course earlier than expected but I had to wait till 4pm to clock out. While I was queuing in line to clock out, I received a call from Eu Gene.

Eu Gene: Where you ?
J : Driving amali. Wanna chao liao. Why ?
Eu Gene : Wanna go shooting anot ?
J : oh...ok loh..When ah ?
Eu Gene: er...Now la !
J : ........ Who's going ?
Eu Gene : Not sure but Khai Shaun ajak la.
J : ok ok la !

So, rushed home and quickly get my camera ready while waiting for Khai Shaun's arrival. I don't know where exactly we were heading to but all I know that day we were going to do indoor shooting. Pheeewww. Just to remind you it was going to rain and it actually did rain heavily.

Suddenly, Khai Shaun said "There ! We shooting inside there." I and Eu Gene stared at each other. We were like "WTH !!!!" Honestly, it was beyond what we had imagine.When we know we were going to do indoor shooting, we never expected an ABANDON BUILDING !!! @#@#%$$^$%

Still after coming quite a distance, we head in and explored the building. Went on firing our cameras until we were quite satisfied. We hurried home from that building. Thank god we got out of the building as soon as possible. hahhaha !! It wasn't one of the greatest experience you can ever expect, yet it's still a new one for me.

The whole abandon bulding photoshoot basically taught us how to really use the natural light and the exposure of the camera. Thanks to Khai Shaun for the experience and of course the transport on that day but anyway please don't freak me out by bringing me to an abandon building again man ! hahaha.

Most of my peers had already started their lives in college. They already had at least 3 months of experience and I bet they had settle down with the new chapter of their life. Well, I'll be entering the a whole new experience in just a few more hours. I don't know whether is a good thing or not, but surely I am keeping my fingers cross to have a great journey during my college life in INTI. Hopefully, it'll be great experience.

As we people leap into the era of globalization, it's getting harder for us to deny the fact that money really does make a man. The symbol or the sound *cek qing* is always on our mind. Well, of course there are many factors that also provides happiness to us but still money has and always will be one of the main factor that contribute to the happiness of man.

Money can get us most of the thing we want. I'll put it very simple, if we have lots and lots of money, we won't even have to worry about purchasing anything at anytime. The importance of money has made man drag on doing drudgery work just to earn some cash to support their living.

Okay back to the main point. You guys must be wondering " What the heck has happen to this guy ?!" From photography all along and then out of the blue...money. It's surely a capricious action although I don't do it very often. Nah...I'm not ready to change my photoblog into....a blog.

All of the sudden I'm talking about this is because I really want to purchase some gadgets for my camera !! Just so you know, photography is a really expensive hobby. So, for those of you out there that haven't got poison into photography ...think twice although it's really fun...in my humble opinion.

My wish list now has changed ! hahaha. Currently I want :

An external flash.

A lens

A battery grip ( not that obsessed about it YET)

So, you guys do the math and tell me does money make a man ? XD

Yup the title of the post said it all. He's the champion of All England 2010. All England considered as one of the most prestigious tournament among the other super series. What makes this victory even sweeter is that this is the 100th edition of All England.

After the constant backlash on him, he finally proved a point, eventhough it's just the beginning of the year. First Malaysian to win Korean Open Super Series ( correct me if I'm wrong), Won the Malaysian Open Super Series again ! And then finally All England !!! He participated these tournaments and won it back to back in fashion.

Lamp light pHotoshOot

It's been three months since I actually hold my beloved DSLR. Forgive me for being apart from you so long. Nonetheless, I had spend some time with it just yesterday to take some shots.

Ever since I was away for months, many event had took place. Some has added brute strength to their DSLR by getting L lens or even a external flash. Two gadgets that I'm craving for. Care to sponsor ? hahahahaa ! Anyway, I decided to have a little fun yesterday with a low light condition using a lamp light to do a mini photoshoot. Lens that I chose was none other than 50mm f1.8.

It's already March 2010....and this is only my second post. Guess it's time to clean up the cobwebs . Although it's been soooooooooooooo long since I've updated this blog, I believe and hope that this blog is still viable.

2010. Definitely a year to remember. Started this year with a different style. For the first time ever, I never walk into the gates of my previous high school, instead I was deported to my National Service camp in Tapah, Perak. Huge different huh ?

3 months went pass in a blink of an eye...or maybe not. Then, just a few days after my homecoming from the camp...it's SPM results day. The day before the big day, the candidates of SPM were filled with fear...afraid to feel chagrin after two years of hard work. It's easy to fathom this feeling. Everyone feels it before the big day. Fortunately, I was greatly relieved after seeing my results. pheewww...What a relieved.

So ! Everyone is now busy and back to live again. Going to college, enquiring about the college and so much more. I can only wonder how much more interesting can 2010 be. My guts tells me that 2010 ain't gonna be a mundane year. Let us all keep our fingers cross and hope for the best.

It's surely an ironic way to start a new post on the first day of a new year by wishing bye bye. I'm probably the first who has ever done this. You guys must be wondering "What the heck ?!..bye bye ?!" If you guys think that I'm going to close this blog..the answer is No. This blog ain't gonna be closed down. However, it'll be left for viewing purposes and to collect dust.

The reason why I'm gonna temporary leave this blog unattended is because I'll be away for quite sometime. Till I return, there shall not be any post for my dear readers.

After months of waiting patiently, I finally got to attend to my first photo shoot. Actually, it wasn't my first as I was in a photo shoot but only to provide assistance to the photographer. This time I was able to be the photographer but of course under the guidance of none other than Khai Shaun. The other photographers were Eu Gene and Eunice.

Reached Subang Lake at 8.00 am and the rest aren't there yet except Khai Shaun and his buddy. So, we decided to kill some time shooting natures while waiting for our model and the rest of the member to arrive. Here's the shots I took while waiting. Hopefully, I'll be in time to post up the rest of my shot by....tomorrow ? Never mind that now ! Enjoy the rest of the pictures below and comments are welcomed as usual.

Shenzhen n VeneTian

As stated in the previous post, I shall be posting pictures only since I had face some hiccups posting them up last night. In this post, I shall post pictures I took in Shenzhen which is all in Window of The World and also in Venetian, Macau. Oh yea, before I forget, I had reduce the picture size starting from this post as I had received overwhelming response stating that the picture is tooooooo huge and takes too long to load and some can't even load them. Hopefully, the reduced size of the pictures provide a satisfactory outcome to everyone.

Below are pictures taken in Window of The World, Shenzhen.

These are the performances in Venetian. We managed to see three performance in Venetian. First of all is the Dragon which is performed in the entrance of Venetian, the music fountain and last of all is a tree. It's surely inescapable the beauty of the performance. Spectacular. The only thing I felt was that the music fountain wasn't really great as the rest, but it's still good ! Probably they should add a little colour during the performance ? Anyway,that's just my two cents.

Day 3 n 4 HK, Shenzhen and MacaU

My humble greeting to my dear readers whom I've abandon for a few days. Anyway, if you guys are soooooo missing me, here's a post dedicated to you all.

The last day in Hong Kong, we visited Victoria Peak, Victoria Harbour, a temple and also the wax museum. Usually tourist would visit these places(Victoria Harbour) in the night to have a better view. Nonetheless, my tour group didn't do so due to schedule changes. Thus, we visited the places in broad day light. Surprisingly, the beauty of the scenery can still be appreciated in broad day light. Of course no point denying visiting Victoria Harbour at night would be great.

The third day of my Hong Kong trip is to Shenzhen. Shenzhen (Chinese: 深圳市; pinyin: Shēnzhèn shì; IPA: [ʂən˥tʂən˥˩]) is a city of sub-provincial administrative status in southern China's Guangdong province, situated immediately north of Hong Kong. Owing to China's economic liberalization under the policies of reformist leader Deng Xiaoping, the area became China's first—and arguably one of the most successful—Special Economic Zones. Here's something about Shenzhen from wikipedia.

I can conclude that the only eye-catching scenery in Shenzhen would be the trip to Window of the World. It has got a very interesting idea to attract tourist globally. Honestly, before arriving there, I'm clueless about Window of the World. As our bus arrived the destination, I was like "Great idea to be a tourist spot". Basically, it has a miniature on famous figures and places. This includes Eiffel tower, pyramids in Egypt, Niagara Falls and much much more.

After that we head to a Chinese town ? It's not exactly a town...is a place. The concept of this famous spot is the same as Window of the World, but the only difference is that over here, it's all about China. Then, we had our meal in the restaurant and when to watch two performance there. I think all of us really enjoyed the performance very much. It's spectacular.

After Shenzhen, we head to Macau the next day. Macau is really small place but extremely clean. What is Macau famous for ? CASINO !! At most everywhere in Macau, casino will be there. I bet most of you had heard of Venetian before, if I'm not mistaken, it's the 4th largest building by area in the world ? Correct me if I'm wrong. So, for people like me, going Macau is sad...hahaha !! We ain't allowed to enter any casino. What was I doing then ? I was basically walking around Venetian and do window shopping. The interior design of Venetian was beautiful.

Besides casino in Macau, the ruins of St Paul is also a place not to miss. According to our guide, the place is always packed with people especially holidays. When I look visited the place, it reminds me of Kota A Farmosa.

We took a ferry back to Hong Kong and finally went to the airport to head to our home sweet home, Malaysia.

Hong Kong : DisneylanD

This post is a continuation of my day 2 trip to Hong Kong. I can conclude that day 2 = Disneyland. We spend at least half a day in Disneyland. It's inescapable for anyone to not go Disneyland when they go Hong Kong, especially when they have young kids. It was quite pack when I was there. Oh well...it's Disneyland right ? Despite having a small size, based on my observation, it really has an exquisite scenery. Perhaps I haven't been to any other Disneyland before, that explains why I'm so amaze with the Disneyland there.

Anyone who doesn't know what to expect in Disneyland ? Go bang your head on the wall now ! Nah, just kidding. Well, I think everyone will know that there will be all the Disney character waiting to greet your arrival. Besides that, as usual there are various sort of games and performance all set up to entertain out visit.

Seeing the queue for most of the games are quite long, I decided to stay put and wait for the performance. I'll let the pictures describe the event.

Some might say that 17 years old is to old for Disneyland. Well, according to Chili Davis "Growing old is mandatory ; growing up is optional". I guess on that day I decided to be a little child. Thus, off went to enjoy the Lion King performance. I dares say is quite worth watching. If you guys don't trust my judgement, wait till you hear the thunderous of applause. I managed to took some shots under the low light condition. Lucky me !

Finally, after walking here and there, it's almost 7.30pm. I rushed back to the meeting point. I quickly choose the best spot. You guys must be wandering "What the heck is he talking about ?" To me, it's the best performance in Disneyland. It's none other than the fireworks performance. It was my first time being able to shoot fireworks display, so don't blame me for picking my spot early. Finally, after waiting for few minutes, the crowd were entertained with the great fireworks display.

As, we walked out of disneyland, we experience snow ! Of course it's now real but there were snow everywhere. After hours in Disneyland, we left the fantasy land.

Hong Kong Day 1 and 2

I'm being so kind to update two days of my Hong Kong trip in one post. You'll know why I'm soooo kind.

So, around 3.3opm I left house to head to KLIA. Woooot !! It's been to KLIA as I went to LCCT more often. Arrived there and my family was the second in the tour group to arrive at the counter. My family and I was travelling with Reliance. All the pulsating enjoyment and happiness vanished as soon as I received the news that our flight has been delayed..for 2 hours ? Can't remember but the plane was delayed. That's the bottom line. To cure the dire situation, I head to the nearest bookstore to kill of the boredom. After 45 minutes, we boarded the plane. YES !!! Taking off !! I can bet that nobody had this prognosis that there was something bad going to happen. Our flight.......delayed !!!! Nyek Nyek... Delayed for an hour. The passengers in the plane was like...what ?!!!

We finally reached Hong Kong...at 1-2 am. That's right. The whole city was a sleep. We got to see the morning market on the way to the hotel in Kowloon. That's the bright side. Lights off at 3.30 am. That's it my day 1 of Hong Kong trip.

Day 2

Morning call was around 7-8 am ? Went to have breakfast. If you don't eat dim sum in Hong Kong, it means you have not been to Hong Kong before. The size of the dim sum is twice our dim sum size. Gotta know the rest of the tour group members. Then, we head of to Victoria Bay. The scenery was great but browsing the Internet seeing the pictures of it at night scenes were sooo much better.

Something very different. Their porridge are smooth.

Dim sum ain't complete without siu mai.

Anyway, after look see here and there. We headed for our lunch. After filling our grumbling stomach with scrumptious food, we head of to the famous street in Hong Kong, Lan Kwai Fong. Along the street there were plenty of shop lots and the famous duck shop. So, we decided to grab a few boxes of it. Indeed it was mouth-watering.

After sooooooooooooooo long not updating, I decided to update now. Anyway, I'm not going to update for about... a week ? Blame the holiday mood. Blogs will be much more alive from now on as many people have finished their SPM ! For those who haven't, best of luck ! As SPM took place like for a long period of time which is probably about a month ?. Hence, it explains why I haven't got the chance to take much photos. I gotta be honest, picking which is your favourite song is quite hard this days. What's more finding a song that has great meanings yet nice to listen too. Remember those days songs like Candle in the wind or I wish I could turn back the clock.. pretty hard to find this sort of songs this song. Nevertheless, there are lots of current songs that I really like.

Anyway, as I was listening to the radio as usual, I heard a new song by Kris Allen. To all Kris allen fan, if you find that No Boundaries has been in your playlist too long, here's a new song by him : Live Like We're Dying. It was just released a few days ago if I'm not mistaken. No this is not the same song by Tim Mcgraw if any of you are getting confuse. It's totally different. Check it out.

This is a continuation of the previous post regarding dragonfly. I just realized that I didn't take many shots of the dragonfly. On that day, I thought I took like a number of it guess I delete most of them while taking. So, I guess I only have less than 20 shots of it ? I'll just have to bear in mind that I should take more of it when I have the chance next time.

In this post, I put a little photoshop technique into it which is called vignette. I rarely use this technique but honestly I really like it especially using it on these pictures. The effect is kinda great to me.

Heroes of Newerth

I was never an avid gamer. I mean I play games but not to like super love the game or something like that. The last game that I played was DotA. That was like when I was in form 3 but I wanted to play it again for fun till I realize that I don't have the CD with me anymore, I decided to ditch the plan.

Last Monday, I was in tuition as usual. But it was aberrant tuition day as my friend started to tell me about this new game. He's a super avid gamer. Have almost all the games that I wanted to play and yet to play. Anyway, the game he was talking about is Heroes of Newerth. I was like what ?! Never heard also. Then, I decided to catch the trailer in youtube. The game is basically something like dota...based on my observation. New heroes and previous hero are in there too. I don't really know much about this game as I hardly hear anyone talking about it.

My exuberant passion for photography is drying up lately, mainly because I don't really take as much pictures I had before. Well, to atone for my deplorable crime I managed to take some shots the day before yesterday. It was surely not an aberrant incident but a fortuituous one when a dragonfly rest quitely in your garden. I took this golden opportunity to take shots of it seeing it was in a good mood staying put there nicely. Had to be prudent when taking shots of this little friend of ours, a small sound by the camera, there he goes flying away. That was what happened to me the day before it. However, it surprised me that this dragonfly did not flew away although I made disturbing noises.

The show that was on the big screen few years back. If I'm not wrong in the year 2004 where Halle Berry star as catwoman. I know you guys are pretty hype up about the latest screening now such as G.I Joe, which is said to be like transformers, but you guys might want to check out about Catwoman.

The upcoming Catwoman is the next Batman sequel. Many of us will think " aiya..same wan la..whack here and there..kao tim.. hero movie like that wan la " But hey look at how the Dark Knight turned out to be.

Superb !! One of the best movie for me till now.

Anyway, you guys might be wondering why the randomness ? Why catwoman and not other upcoming movies ? As I stated above you guys might want to check it out because the new Catwoman is Megan Fox. Yup ! I heard it on radio today saying that the bombshell is taking up that role.

It has been on the top chart and still is a hit song. I normally hear it like every single day ! Hearing people requesting for the song, hearing people talking about how great she looks like on the video. It's none other Poker Face by Lady Gaga.

To be honest with you guys, this was actually the first song I heard from her not Just Dance. The song became such a hit that everyone knows about the Poker Face joke which comes in many version. One of it is "How do you make Lady Gaga mad ?" "Poke-her face". It just show how popular the song is.

I'm not sure whether any of you guys know about this but the Badminton World Championship 2009 will take place tommorow !! Avid badminton fans will definitely be excited about this one since it is the major event of the year after Sudirman Cup.

This event took place quite a moment ago but not so too long ago. Those who were waiting patiently for the pictures, sorry for the delay.

My friends and I went to the newly opened Pizza Hut in Taipan. Just for your information to those who don't know where is the new Pizza Hut located, it is in front of Station One and the ex-Burger King. Honestly, I haven't eaten Pizza Hut for quite some time already. Having them as my dinner reminds me how mouth-watering they are. Really delicious.

Went there at 8 pm. As usual I was one of the early birds waiting for the rest of the gang who practices punctuality so well. Once they arrive, we decided to sit outside in the open air instead of the comfortable air condition room. This is mainly due to insufficient space for us. Nevertheless, it was certainly a good choice as we totally like own the place. Talking as loud as we wish and take pictures and also moving about as we like.

After having our dinner and our chats, we head to Baskin Robbins and then head for home.

In the year 2009, early of June, the WHO had taken a step to declare the outbreak to be a pandemic. Nobody has a prognosis that this outbreak would be a pandemic outbreak. At the initial stage, nobody seems to bother about it. Nevertheless, as the death toll rises at an alarming rate, everyone in the world seems to have an epiphany on the matter. Hand in hand they worked together to combat this deadly virus.

The media had played a huge role in this battle. Advertisements can be seen and heard almost everywhere. The method is very effective as we walk into the school or even work place, students and workers are taking necessary precaution to avoid the sickness such as wearing mask.

The Influenza A H1n1 had been the hot topic within the society even students. We students pay so much attention to it and we decided to brand it a new name. Why so hard want to pronounce H1N1 when you can just call it as HINI ? This virus has immobilize our freedom. Going out to cinema just for entertainment sake seems to be a bad choice in the current state. Going to a market is also a bad choice. Going to school also requires us to take lots of precaution. Handshake is also being avoided as a method of greeting. Whoa...seems like it really does affect our freedom. HAHA...

Anyway, as everyone is working hard to find the Achilles heel of our enemy, my school has played its role in the battlefield. Like usual, advertisement and information counter on the virus is set up. Nevertheless, we have the Twelveans FM to keep the students up to date on the matter. What ?! You guys got a fm ?! Yeah..how cool is that huh ? haha...The only setback is that this Fm doesn't provide songs. They should create something like rap music on h1n1. I can imagine Eugene's face getting ready for this already.

Besides the Fm, there's badges designed to be sold to the students too. The respond towards the sale was not bad. I decided to get one too. There are two different types of design, one white and the another is black in colour. Although both are different colour and design, it still sends out the common message. How do you guys play your role regarding this matter ?

After all the efforts that we had put just to bring down this virus, let us all just hope that this mean virus would be vanished after providing such a great detrimental effect on us.

I know my tittle sounds a little insulting to the person whom I'm dedicating this post to. Came to know this guy since he was in form 1. Never had the chance to know him yet that time. I just knew this guy exist. whoa...sounds a little insulting too. haha.

It all change when he came Form 4. Started to know him and I daresay quite well. His secret ambition which I don't think is a secret anymore...rapper. Yeah...u got that right. A freaking rapper. He even got his own name for rapper ?! Ganpowder ! Honestly it sounds a bit noob. Nevertheless, it's your name, your call. Besides his rapping talent, he has quite a prodigious of other talents. Example musically talented. I know that his grade in piano isn't that very great but it's good enough honestly. With that kind of grade ( not stating here scared he feel insulted), he manage to write a song which is his own based on the song "Taking back my love". The song which was a collaboration by Enrique Iglesias featuring Ciara.

Surprise surprise ! I know some of you are like "Who the heck is this dude ?" But I guess the group of people who are saying that didn't know he exist. His quite popular too ok ! Popularity going stronger some more.

Hearing and seeing people playing the piano sometimes make me want to learn it too. Some of the pianist that I know however said that piano isn't really fun to learn, most of them would prefer the guitar. I don't know I still feel that piano is kinda cool.

Regarding the topic above, I can only say that I'm expecting this blog to be less updated. Reason why the in activeness ? Been quite busy for the past weeks. Starting from camps moving onto works, projects and much more activities. Sorry for the hiatus.

Firstly, I'm sure that most of the form 5s had already checked their participation in the National Service. I can see that some are keen and looking forward to it but sadly most are accepting the results in a poignant aspect. Just for you information, I'm selected too for the National Service. I can already imagine myself in "botak" mode next year. Actually, I'm planning to go for a crew cut for a sneak preview of my future self next month. What do you guys thing ?

War of the CameraS

I know you guys will be thinking.."What the hell ? What does Megatron or Optimus Prime gotta do with cameras ?!" Nope, is not something related to the upcoming Transformers 2. I would like to remind you guys that there were two sides in Transformers which is the Autobots and the Decepticons if any of you guys had forgotten.

Ok, I can guess that you guys still don't get it how does that relate to the topic of this post. Here's the scenario. I was reading a book while listening to the Flyfm today. Then, there was this advertisement stating about cameras. I can't remember the exact words of course but is something to do with small cameras VS big cameras.

Till today, this debate is still going. I can only guess the meaning of big cameras stated by the radio is DSLR and the small camera is the Point and Shoot. So that's how the topic of this post came along. Point and shoot VS DSLR. Which one would be better ?

Well, DSLR has special features like adjusting the aperture and the shutter speed and plenty more. On the other hand, people would argue that the P&S ( point and shoot) is smaller in size and is easier to be brought around. This is basically how people would argue when this topic arises.

The purpose of a person purchasing a camera is to take a photo. Nevertheless, we transformer the purpose into not just taking photo anymore. We evolve them into taking a good/perfect/wonderful pictures. That explains the improvement made by the cameras. Increase in the mega pixels, better shutter speed, better lens, better flashguns and so on.

I'm actually in the middle of the war. I'm a neutral. HAHA !! I was a P&S user just like many of you are. And I switched into DSLR when I really like photography. I won't and will never say that I regret getting a DSLR. This is mainly because of the pictures I take provides me with much satisfactory. Even though the size of it could be a huge issue especially travelling, I still find that it isn't much of a trouble. Nonetheless, I really can't deny this that P&S is really really good when it comes to travelling. You can slide it into your pocket and just walk around without much burden and still take pictures.

What's the best solution to this war if you're stuck in the middle like me ? Get both ! HAHA !! Saves us from much problems. I can only suggest that we should follow our instinct when we're about to buy a camera. Once purchasing it, make good use of it and you won't feel any regret. Anyway, that's just my opinion.

If any of you are not stuck in the middle like me, which side would you be on ? DSLR or P&S. I'm very interested in knowing the results too. Therefore, I would put a poll on the side of my blog to see the results. Please do vote as I really want to see what's the results.

I'm not referring to the super awesome and sexy car, B&W. B&W in this post means black and white which I think you guys know pretty well. Looking through my blog, I noticed that I rarely post up pictures of black and white shots. Well, today I decided to upload some B&W shots. Black and white shots are pretty famous these days but their even more well known in the past. B&W shots are in my point of view, unique kind. Most of these shots portrays a sentimental feeling unlike colour pictures. Besides that, B&W shots can also evoke nostalgic feelings within a person. I guess there are many functions of these shots. Nevertheless, whenever I take a B&W photo, I still fail to feel these kind of feeling. haha..Not a very sentimental person I suppose.

Students are having it due to exam fever. Football supporters ( MU especially) are having fever as today we may be able to see who champs the EPL. Badminton fans ( me) are also having fever due to the Sudirman Cup.

Around 7 pm, i walked out from my house to clear up the trash. So, happen at that time I saw the sky and I decided to take pictures of it. I've seen many sky shots that are magnificient and till now I'm not able to take those kind of shots. Maybe it's time to get a polarization filter ? Nah, I'm suppose to cut down on my expenses if I wanna but my flash or maybe 55-250mm. Anyway, I notice something fishy about my photo after taking it. There's like a patch of sunlight at one place. Nonetheless, this is my first time taking photos of sky, can't really expect a fantastic result. Hopefully I'll be able to capture better shots of sky in my next shots.

Advise on how to get better results are greatly appreciated. XD

A minute with 85mm

Last Tuesday, I received a surprise visit by a friend of mine. He was passing me a lens which he borrowed from another friend of my,Melissa. I managed to use the lens for only a minute which explains the tittle of my post. Why only a minute ? I was already suppose to be in bed like ages ago but I was still awake.

Anyway, I managed to take only two shots. HAHA !! 1 minute for two pictures. I don't really know how to use 85mm to be honest with you guys. It was different from 50mm or kit lens that I've always been using. The focusing part is kinda hard so I decided to take what I can at that moment. If given more time, I would of course take much more.

I know the tittle of the post sounds wrong but in order to grab your attention, I'll have to do so. I definitely sound like a Machiavellian right now.

Anyway, this post is about me tryin to purchase a external flash. As you guys know, camera comes with flash but surely doesn't produce the result as good as an external flash. I don't really know how to explain why is it so good compare to a flash besides picture having a really nice colour.

Most Dslr users will get a external flash sooner or later. Some even more "siao" get two. With so many brands competing with each other, it does give us a migraine to choose between them. Nevertheless, the better for us. All this while I've been aiming to get only one external flash which is 580 ExII. I've yet to hear people complain about this external flash, because it does seem to be good or maybe the best. Due to budget constrains, I'm having difficulty getting it

A few of my friends are using 430 EX II instead of 580 EX II. I guess most of them have the same reason as me. " Mo chin lah ! " ( No money lah) . I've heard various comment on this external flash. Some giving the pros of it some giving the negative sides of it. Surely no where near 580 EX II quality. I did once consider for it but never really shown the deep affection to it.

Now, for the first time.....I'm considering to buy a third party external flash. You got that right. I'm considering to get a third party flash. You can blame this on my dear friends, who are also crazy about it. One thing great about a third party stuff is that the price is definitely much much lower. Try 1.5k to 400+. Nissin di622. That's the external flash that I'm seriously considering. My friends say that the result is almost as good as 430 Ex II. Now that's something. It's basically due to the price and the almost as good as quality that made me consider this. I'm pretty sure that most people will consider it too. Hope I will not be wrong about getting this flash. Give me feedback please.

Apologies for the lack of update till some have already claim that this blog is dead. I used to play the guitar like months back. All of the sudden I got the urge to play it again. I don't know where it came from but it just did. It's quite surprising as I'm not taking any more lessons which I previously do. Gotta admit that it does feel good to play again although it's no longer as good as before. With the help of useful websites that enable me to obtain the guitar tab and some glimpse of guitar play, it surely is a plus point for me.

I'm so sure that most of you or should I say all of you know the song by Yiruma- River flows in you. It's played on piano and the melody of it is really great. It's so great that some play it on guitar. Playing piano scripts on guitar is no longer a peculiar thing anymore. Anyway, this is the video that I viewed on youtube moments ago.

Earth Hour

What did you vote for ?

At 8.30pm, I voted for Earth for the first time in my life. Then, went out from house to see the surounding area of my neighbourhood. It's a mix mix situation as some resident cast their vote just like me and yet chose not to vote for our exquisite Earth. I guess the reason why some didn't bother to conduct the simple kind gesture for Earth is because their not even at home. haha !!

Some,especially kids enjoy themselves very much during the period of time. They did the expected thing which is playing with candles. Within that one hour I did try to take some pictures but I must express my dissapointment that I'm not able to take nice one as the area is too dark. Sorry for the setback. Nevertheless, I'm pretty sure that there're some bloggers that take some photos of the historical event. =P

Goodbye Hols

Yesterday, our national no.1 shuttler, Lee Chong Wei has failed to secure one of the most prestigious crown in the arena of badminton. Surprisingly to all of you guys, I'm not that dissapointed. Why ? Because he has improved compared to the previous years. This is the first time he has managed to win a medal in All England. Most of you guys still consider it as a failure.

Anyway Chong Wei, you are the most consistent shuttler in our Malaysian camp. You have reached finals after finals. It's just a quarter of the year 2009, yet you have already reached 3 finals. Kudos. As stated in the beginning of the year, the year of the Ox requires one to be bery risilent to face challenges. So, hopefully you will have them. Hopefully I will have them too after screwing up my recent exam. *sigh*

That's not a shop. It's a name of a place in Kelantan. I just realize that this year during CNY. I know KEDAI LALAT ?! Who would name such a thing ? I seriously don't know but I guess it's like always been, that place got too much lalat ? Maybe, there's a shop that is superbly famous for it's lalats ? I admit that I don't know about it. Haven't been there too.

It's been so long that I've updated my blog. This is mainly due to no Internet service for me during the Chinese New Year. I think I better stop singing as it might made this auspicious festival turn into a gloomy day. Who in the world would want to celebrate Chinese New Year with the rain all the time ?

This year's Chinese New Year is slightly different than the previous year. Why ? Because this is the first time I did more work for the preparation of the celebration. I always do the preparation with my family members but this time, I felt that it's slightly more than usual.

We bid farewell to the year of rat and now we're greeting the year of the ox. Acording to link, the year of the ox symbolizes prosperity through fortitude and hard work. So, don't expect to shake leg and prosperity come to us. What more with the current global recession. I don't know what kind of year will the year of the ox be. Last year, I stated that the year of the rat is a.k.a the year of unexpectation since there had been series of unexpected events. I wonder what'll the year ox be ?

Larian Twelveans

So near yet so far. That's all I can say about today's Larian Twelveans.

Went to school as usual in the morning. The only difference this time is that there are the afternoon session joining us. This annual event kicked off with Senamrobik. As usual some were seriously following each and every move of the Senamrobik. As I expected some don't even bother to move a muscle during the warming session.

As soon as it's over, the girls were instructed to move to the starting point. One by one, all of them went. Before I even knew what was going on, it was already my turn to run. While running, I saw many kinds of expressions and people. Some were striving their best for the first place. But some were striving even harder to be the last !!! Well, I know being last is really easy but still from what I saw being the last isn't that easy as it may seem to be. Shocking.

I didn't have the sanguine feeling that I'll break into the top 20 as the distance this year has increased to 3.2 km. Nevertheless, I just gave what I could. As I was reaching the crux of the race, my stomach began to ache. SHIT !! I mean ache as in not the toilet process thing, but is more like cramp. And that took place when I was less than 1km from the school. Soon, I managed to arrive in school with an aching stomach. It was then I knew that I missed the top 20 by only a few spot !!! I only managed to get 25 th. That's what I meant at the beginning of the post. So near yet so far. My final year and I failed to be in the top 20. *sigh*

After recess it was time for the prize giving ceremony. This year's LT champion goes to McAffee (correct me if I'm wrong). By 12.30pm, student went home with the Chinese New Year spirit as I believed many would rush back to their hometown right away.

When school begins, bloggers go on holiday. Many didn't manage to update their blog as soon as the school has began and unfortunately, one of them is me. Nevertheless, there are some that are even more pitiful like bloggers resign from their duty. Some decided to come back after a long time but the effort seem to be in vain. Sad case. I guess recession year is a really tough year even though it's just 7 days in the new year.

No, I'm not quiting blogging but I can expect there'll be fewer updates compare to before. Less update is equally bad as dead. Yes, I know that but I'm keeping my fingers cross that I'll exceed that expectation. Wish me luck !

No one in the world will have that thought. Kate = guy. Seriously does Kate sounds like a guy name to you ?!!! I admit myself that the world has became a "better" place. Therefore, I shouldn't be surprise to experience weird stuff these days. But !! Kate = guy ?!!!

You guys must be shocked as well. This Kate = guy thing is said by an adolescence not a five year old kid ? And the Kate that I'm mentioning about is Kate Beckinsale . Yes ! The one that acts as the hottie and "leng lui" vampire in Underworld, the one that model in magazines like Allure and Mean, etc etc..

3 days after Christmas andn 3 days till the last day of 2008. I only noticed it now as in this second. 4 more days to a new year. It's more or less one month till Chinese New Year. J's interpretation on Chinese New Year. Chinese New Year = money, family and LOKAM. Yes, lokam is one of the best fruits in the world. It can only be seen usually once a year. This makes it even more unique compare to the other fruits. What's unexpected is that there's already lokam being sold. I never knew lokam are ready to be sold this early as I was expecting it to be sold normally a few weeks before the big day. Nevertheless, I have already enjoyed one lokam today.

A lokam a day, makes doctor smiling all day. Just kidding.

According to him, not updating for three days is equal to your blog is dead. Then, he finally updated his Japan trip after 12 days ( means his blog die 4 times ) and asked me too hurry update my blog. He didn't said it once, he said it so so many times till we had a "Perang Sakai" conversation. Absolutely waste of time to have the sakai war. It's thirty minutes left to one of the biggest, hugest, besar-est event of the year. Christmas. Almost everyone is celebrating it.

So, I went out for my usual dinner and then came home around 9 pm. Turn on the radio, tuning into flyfm. At 10.30pm, they have their special programme called flirty at 10.30. So, since today is the eve of Christmas, I guess the caller is really in a Christmas mood. This is what happen. I can't really remember the exact dialogue.

Caller : Mrs. Santa
Flyfm : ok....So who do you want to go out with, Mrs Santa ?
Caller : oh, I a bit lonely you see. My husband today busy giving presents. So, I very boring at home. I want to go out with Bigfoot from Johor.

Seriously, I was also laughing. Just imagine. Big foot with all the bulu dating with Mrs.Santa. I can bet that Mr. Santa's present to his wife will be a divorce letter.

It's triple kill to Malaysia. I just realized that I haven't been blogging about badminton for quite a long time already.

It began on the 18th of December till today, 21st December. This isn't any ordinary tournament as this tournament offers a large sum of money. The three categories that M'sia emerge as champions are the men single, men's dobules and women's doubles. All of the three have one common similarities which is outplaying their opponent in straight sets.

Men single title has been taken by the none other, Lee Chong Wei or should I say Datuk Lee Chong Wei. Outplaying his opponent with a victory 21-8 and 21-16. The men's doubles which are Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong beat the korean pairs 21-18 and 21-14. Chin Ee Hui and Wong Pei Tty made a triple joy for the M'sian as they won the Indonesian pair 20-15 and 22-20.

All I want to say is congrats to all of you. I guess all of you got yourselves an early Christmas present.

This 21st century, there are so many anime shown. Whether it's on TV or or the net, we're able to get our anime anywhere we want. I personally do like some anime like Samurai X. That's my super no.1 favourite. Or maybe Final Fantasy. I do have to say that there's no point denying that anime are superbly cool.

Well, throughout life, I haven't seen any anime that's in movie style. I mean movie as in movie like James Bond, Harry Potter and so on. Never in my life. But guess what I think i'll have to add another unexpected thing that happen in the year 2008. Why ??

Dragon Ball is going to become a movie !!!!

I certainly got no comment about this. This movie may be good. Maybe. But don't you guys feel awkward seeing your favourite super hero in anime version suddenly come to real life ??

I'm not against this thing but I truly am shocked ! An anime becoming a movie ?! Whoa !! Normally all super hero are taken from Marvel's comic like X-men, Superman, Spiderman and all your man man thing.

Singapore Part 3

This is the final part of my recent Singapore trip. As usual we had our breakfast and then we straight away head to our destination. In the morning we decided to visit the famous Har Par Villa. Well, I don't whether we were considered early because it doesn't have many tourists as I expected. I don't really know how to describe it so I guess I'll have to depend on my pictures to do the talking this time.

After that, we took the bus and head for the Science Centre. The best part of the Science Centre is the cinema scene which is totally not a cinema is like...the screen is like a hemisphere. That's something really new to us. Seeing a documentary show with a hemisphere screen. It's not just a small tiny or the regular cinema screen ok !! The ceiling is the screen !!!

After enjoying the visit to the Science Centre, we left for Marina Bay ( I think). Then, we did a little walking and finally reached the Merlion place that we had wanted to go. It's really nice to go there in the evening as it's windy and the scenery is just brilliant. We stayed there for quite sometime till dinner time. Then, we took the MRT back to Orchard Road to have our dinner.

After the dinner, we head to our hotel and bid goodnight to our last night in Singapore.

Singapore part 2

Second day during a holiday trip is normally the most hectic one. Second is the day, you explore the place until you drop dead. That's exactly what happen to my family and I. Woke up and had our breakfast in the hotel. The dishes there are simple dishes. For example, bi hun, egg, dim sum..etc.

With exuberant excitement in us, we left the hotel as soon as we had our breakfast. This time we are heading to Sentosa. We took a bus to some where I forgotten the place's name but it's a bus station. From there, we took another bus to Sentosa. In my point of view, Sentosa is the best part of Singapore. All the entertainment and food is all there. If you guys haven't been to Sentosa, I think is equal to not visiting Singapore.

We took the package 3 + 2 which includes cable car, 4D show, Merlion, Tiger Tower and Images of Singapore. The 4D show is really cool as I haven't been to any kind before. The theme was Pirates. Is really hilarious.

As soon as we finish all the package, we went to the MRT station to meet up with my aunt there. She then took us to a famous street called Bugis Street ( Not sure of the spelling). After exploring the street, we had our dinner and then we head for our hotel. The explanation for this post may seem short but trust me, at the end of the day, we were freaking exhausted.

Day before yesterday, Shu Ying stop by my house to pass me my present she got for me from China. I like the present very much. It's a solid wooden chess set. Not easy to get here. Or maybe I don't know the right place to get it. Anyway, I would like to thank you Shu Ying and your family for getting me this present.

Singapore part 1

It's been a week since I came back from Singapore, yet there still no update about it. Reason ? I wasn't able to upload my pictures and my computer is freaking slow. Much slower than a tortoise. Imagine that.

Left on the 1st of December. Left the house around 9.30 pm and reached around 1.30pm. We took the second link to get there. Therefore, there isn't any traffic at all, and most of all thank god it's a straight road throughout the journey.

It's not that simple to get to our hotel. We were guided with the map printed by ourselves. At first we couldn't find our hotel. Then, we stopped by and ask a guy in a building. We asked where's our hotel. And he replied, "Here's the hotel." Damn funny man. I can still remembered how we laugh at ourselves. Well, if you guys want to know why we didn't realise that was our hotel. We're searching for RELC hotel ( can't remember what it stand for) and the building we went into was RELC but it stated Regional Language Centre. So, we had doubt whether it's a hotel or not.

Without resting, we straight went to the MRT station and visit Chinatown. Nothing much I can say about Chinatown since it's....Chinatown. It's almost the same as Petaling Street. Food, Clothes, Drinks....those stuff. Well, I can only say that the MRT service is really fantastic. It's always on time and for the next train to arrive, it doesn't take much time.

After visiting Chinatown, we straight went to Night Safari. It seems to be a very popular tourist spot. Almost everybody recommend it. The performance by the animal it's really cool. Animals doing stunts ? Not something that we get to see everyday. Besides the performance, we get to see the various animals which are endangered.

Farewell Shu Ying and Maxon

The farewell party took place last Wednesday. Yes...I know it happened long ago but I still didn't blog anything about it. My camera ran away from home, so I can't upload the pics. Anyway, it's better late than never.

Did many calls that week to check the attendance of the people on that day. I constantly reminded them that it was 7-7.15 pm. Not surprising that many turned up later than usual. Eu Gene was the latest among all to arrive. I clearly didn't expect that because he said he's going to come really early to whack all the food. Nevertheless, he did arrive with his PS 2 which kept most of us busy that day.

Many may seem to think that the party was held very early before both of them leave Selangor. Well, it's getting nearer. The day that both of you guys are going to leave us. No you guys ain't going to die. choy !! All I can say is good luck to both of you in Pahang.

Prefect Inter Games 2008

To end the schooling days of 2008, the prefect board organised the annual prefect inter games. It was a great way to end it. It was held on the 14th of November 2008 on a Friday.

You may ask what's the difference between this year's prefect inter games with the years before it. Well, this year the Prefect Board invited some of the Unit Beruniform members like Pertahanan Awam and KRS to come and play along with us. Besides that, this year's basketball is not the half court 3 0n 3 but it's a full court 5 on 5 game !! The bad part is most of us got
sunburned due to the scorching sun. Before I forget, there are also senior that join the game. Well, there isn't many but there were two that stopped by. One of them even played with us which is Christopher Ho. Unfortunately Wei Ling didn't get to play with the rest of the prefects too. Anyway, thanks to both of you for coming.

Event kicked off at 7.45 am till 12.30pm noon. There weren't only basketball that was held but football and futsal too. As soon as the registration were done, the teams headed to their repective venue for their games. As usual after the games were over there's prize giving ceremony. Then, we headed home with our burned skin.

Believe it or not. Actually I'm kind of bored coming in front of the computer and do the same thing over and over again everyday. Is actually quite boring after doing for quite sometime. So, I got myself a book to read. Me reading book ? Most of you don't believe it, I understand. But I guess the level of boredness is really high. I got myself Twilight. I believe almost everybody has read the book. I'm only starting to read it. So far behind. Who knows I might finish the book by today ?

Prefect Honourary Night 2008

I think I'm the last person posting about this event. I've gone to visit blogs after blogs, most had already post about it. Well, me being me always slow in updating this days. Looking at the bright side, I don't have to give you guys so much details. Just kidding only.

This event took place on the 5th of November at the same venue as last year which is The Victoria Ballroom in Holiday Villa. As usual, had to be there earlier than most of the prefects. Arrived with the rest of the committee members at 6 pm. Set up the multimedia stuff that needed for that night, and soon it begun.

The event was almost the same as last year. The only major difference is that this year there is a new system launch in the Prefect Board which is called SPAM. No it's not spamming in your mailbox. It stands for Special Prefect Anecdote Magazine.

The event carried as usual with the performance and games. At 11pm we were supposed to leave the hall.All was done and cleared by 11.15 pm.

Last Day of School

Some has already called it over. Some still going to school. Some must go to school ( SPM). So, today is named by most of the people as the last day of school eventhough it isn't.

Had my breakfast at a coffee shop near my house. Ordered and ate it. As I was eating, then an aunty from a stall shouted "Saman ! Saman ! " ( If I'm not wrong that's what she said, can't remember the exact words). Then, all the people in coffee shop stand up at once and dashed out to put the ticket for their illegal parking. The whole coffee shop was like empty man !!

Well, I guess that's one of the benefit of not driving a car.

So, yeah based on the tittle of the post, I think you guys can expect very little update from today onwards. I think this will be the last post until I'm over with my school exams which is in two weeks time. I may drop by and update a little but I doubt that'll happen. Hopefully I can.
